ULTRA Desktop 3.0.1 Release Notes
Release notes are divided into the following categories:General User Interface
Using arrow keys to scroll drop-down lists does not move selection highlighting within list.
If the arrow keys are used to move the selection up or down in one of the drop-down lists in the Document Manager window, the selection field will show the selection, but the selection highlighting will not move. The item shown in the field will be the correct selection.
(Issue #3087)
Selected text in column header fields will not appear to be selected after use of cut/copy/paste menu item(s).
Selecting text in one of the column header fields, then selecting Cut, Copy, or Paste from the Edit menu will cause the selected text to appear as though it is no longer selected. This is not the case; the text in the field is still selected in this situation.
(Issue #3181)
Pane sizes not saved between sessions.
Changes made by a user to the size of the panes (i.e., Reference Content, Target Classification, etc.) in the Document Manager window will not be saved after the application is closed. Upon relaunch of the application, the panes will be displayed with their default sizes.
(Issue #3341)
Cannot change document file type, then change back to original file type.
If the Change Type command is used on a file, then used again to change the type back to the original file type, ULTRA Desktop will be unable to locate the original file(s).
(Issue #3891)
Application window shrinks when closing pane.
Closing one of the View panes (such as the Content or History panes) may result in the ULTRA Desktop application window resizing to a size smaller than its size prior to opening the pane. In this case, it will be necessary for the user to manually resize the window.
(Issue #4388)
Invalid date will be accepted in "ULTRA TM Export to Trados" window.
Any numeric values entered between the slashes will be accepted in the ULTRA TM Export to Trados window's Since field, provided the required format is used; ULTRA Desktop will convert the invalid date to the nearest plausible date. For example, entering "123/222/0" in the field will result in conversion to the date 10/8/10. Users should take care to enter the date correctly when using the ULTRA TM Export to Trados feature.
(Issue #4412)
eTranslate logo may appear at incorrect location in application window.
A duplicate eTranslate "e" logo may appear in an incorrect position within the application window. Resizing the application window will remove the logo.
(Issue #4420)
Image Manager window does not redraw behind "Save As RTF" dialog.
The Image Manager window will not redraw if the Save As RTF dialog window is moved. This makes it impossible to view any Image Manager items that were obscured behind the Save As RTF window.
(Issue #4827)
No overwrite warning given when exporting TM.
The Export TM feature will suggest the same filename as the previously exported TM file, and it will not provide a warning dialog when an older file with the same name is about to be overwritten. Users should be careful to rename new TM files in order to avoid unintentionally overwriting old TM files.
(Issue #4898)
No message or dialog when user has no available tasks.
A user checking ULTRA for tasks will not receive any notification or message when there are no tasks available.
(Issue #5032)
Only the first three characters of file extensions are significant.
ULTRA Desktop will view the files ABC.p65 and ABC.p65x as possessing identical filenames, because it checks only the first three characters of the file extension. For this reason, adding characters to the end of an extension in an effort to "move aside" a document in an ULTRA Desktop directory (for example, when a user wishes to replace the document's file with another and save the original file) will not work.
(Issue #5056)
"Images have not been properly assigned" error message when getting a GTX task.
When getting a GTX task the "Images have not been properly assigned" error message appears. This is the result of a user performing the Get command in the Task pane for a new GTX task retrieved with their filter field set to filter for application/x-et-gtx. The solution is to clear all filter fields, refresh the Task pane, then Get the GTX file again.
(Issue #5169)
Windows file associations are ignored by ULTRA Desktop.
If a user has set up a custom file-type association within his or her Windows operating system (for example, files with the extension .db should be opened by the WordPad application), this association will not result in WordPad launching when the user double-clicks a file of the specified type in the ULTRA Desktop window.
(Issue #5251)
"Host unreachable: connect" message when network connection lost.
If the Internet connection with the ULTRA server is lost, an error message reading "Host unreachable: connect" will appear when ULTRA Desktop attempts to take an action requiring contact with ULTRA. In order to re-establish contact with ULTRA in this situation, the ULTRA Desktop user must fix the internet connection, then use the "Disconnect" command in the ULTRA Desktop File menu, then reconnect.
(Issue #5535)
Task History pane display may be erratic when server connection lost.
If the Internet connection with the ULTRA server is lost and the user simply clicks the OK button on the message indicating this problem, the display on the history pane may not show all the relevant tasks.
(Issue #5536)
Task History pane display does not update after actions are taken on documents.
A user who takes action on project documents while the History pane is open will find that the actions taken will not be visible in the History pane until the pane is closed and then reopened.
(Issue #5544)
Dashes stripped from filenames when exported from ULTRA.
Dashes will be removed from filenames during the Export TM process. For example, the file "translation-memory.tmx" will show up on ULTRA Desktop as "translationmemory.tmx".
(Issue #5547)
Installation
DOS shell window opens when executing Power Update.
When the Power Update procedure initiates, a separate DOS shell window will open. This is normal behavior; the user should not attempt to close the window.
(Issue #4574)
Installation must take place into empty directory.
Because the ULTRA Desktop Installer may encounter difficulty when installing into a directory with existing files (particularly when a previous version of ULTRA Desktop had been in the directory), it is important to use a fresh, empty directory for ULTRA Desktop installation. Failure to do so may result in some installation files not being copied correctly, with unpredictable results.
(Issue #5527)
Uninstaller does not remove out-of-date .jar files.
When upgrading to a newer version of ULTRA Desktop, the uninstaller application may not delete all of the .jar files used by the previous installation. For this reason, it is best to delete the entire directory after performing an uninstall operation, then install into a fresh directory.
(Issue #5614)
Task List
Username remains in task's "State" field after ULTRA manager reverts task checkout.
A project's ULTRA manager may invalidate a Get operation performed by an ULTRA Desktop user on a task, in effect "repossessing" the task and making it available to ULTRA Desktop users. This is known as "reverting checkout." When this action takes place, the affected task(s) will retain the username in the State field, though the user is no longer recognized by ULTRA as the tasks's "owner." Attempting to submit the document will result in the appearance of an error message.
(Issue #4679)
GTX file can be submitted when associated image has had checkout reverted.
If a GTX graphics-transcription file's associated imag(s)e file has had its checkout reverted by an ULTRA manager, it will still be possible for ULTRA Desktop users to submit the GTX file, though error messages will result.
(Issue# 5333)
New projects do not appear in Reference Content pane until Task List is updated.
If a new project is added on the ULTRA side, refreshing the Reference Content pane in ULTRA Desktop will not display the new project until the Task List is updated.
